This esteemed trust has the distinction of being the unique one if we trace the glorious pages as it dates back to the year 1939 when it was established, which made a start from inception with an honorarium/ munificent donation of Rs. 1,00,000/- contributed by Late Seth Shri, MAFATLAL GAGALBHAI, a great philanthropist and social reformist who stood for betterment of every humanity through his social work.
The Iron Man of India Late Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel had the pleasure and honour of inaugurating
the swimming pool in the year 1942.
In the early years when the Swimming Pool was opened to Hindu Public for recreation it made a headway with Two Swimming Pools one with wider area for gents and another smaller one for ladies. Now we have renovated our premises with new renovated Gents Swimming Pool which was inaugurated by Late Shri Rasesh N. Mafatlal on 20th November 1994 and Club House by then Honorable Chief Manohar Joshi on 15 June 1997. We have also renovated our Ladies Swimming Pool by Shri Divya Pradeep Mafatlal on 17 January 2004 and Gymnasium by Shri Hitesh Kalyan Bhai Shah on 29th October 2009. The Bath offers following facilities to its member 1) Swimming 2) Water polo 3) Boating 4) Kayaking 5) Wind Surfing/ Water skiing 6) Steam/Sauna and Chilled Shower 7) Gymnasium/ Health club 8) Badminton 9) Volleyball 10) Table Tennis 11) Children Play Ground And 12) Cafeteria etc.
The Club Membership recently has Grown by leaps & bounds since the time immemorial as we have 42,000 members ( Life & Ordinary) leaving still room for accommodating children of members into this club.
The trust is registered as Charitable Trust & is administered by a Managing Committee comprising of Trustees all of whom are Ex-officio members & Fourteen Members elected every alternate year, 7 from Life member’s constituency & 7 from Ordinary members constituency. The Charge-De-Affairs is Shri Pradeep Rasesh Mafatlal.
Next year the club will have the distinction of celebrating Platinum Jubilee (75th Year). The Swimming Bath is marching ahead promoting Aquatic Sports and it has conducted several aquatic tournaments at local and national level.
The members of the Club have won Kudos by way of medals at the State, National & International level Events specially in Water polo tournaments.
Our Managing Committee has a fresh initiative to make this Club a fully equipped one with modern amenities Club house with all modern facilities to be offer such as Gymnasium, Library, Cafeteria etc. Along with existing facilities such Badminton, Table tennis, chess to the members at very nominal rate keeping in view that this trust in mainly used by Hindu middle class people.
The Club accomplishes the promise of giving every member vigour, vitality through his health club & every member can have good and sound health throughout the life.
